The contents of this comprehensive basic bookkeeping course extensively covers the essentials of Canadian manual bookkeeping. The course extends over a 13-week period with one class per week for 2.5 hours. Registration is kept to a small group to ensure individual attention.

Basic Bookkeeping Course
Our students will obtain both knowledge and essential skills which will jump-start their career or benefit their current employment, as well as any future roles or goals they are striving towards.
This 32.5–hour course encompasses all aspects of bookkeeping essentials and compliance. The curriculum revolves around the transactions of a fictional small business; and includes theory, exercises, and reviews. Course material is not provided and must be purchased by the student in time for the first class. Students will be provided with a link to purchase the material after they register for the course. We also create a private Facebook group membership to support students during their training.
There is an optional Course Assessment available upon completion of this course (additional fee of $175.00 + taxes).

This course meets the CPB Canada checklist for the Apprentice Level knowledge standards. Our courses fulfill industry normal CPD requirements, including those members of CPB Canada.

- Less than 30 Days written notice to course start date – deposit payment will be forfeited.
- There is no refund available after the first course start date.
Fundamentals Assessment
An optional assessment for students who have completed our Fundamentals course. Includes a two-hour Prep session and four-hour Assessment via Zoom.

#1 Who is the Bookkeeping Fundamentals Course designed for?
Trifold’s goal for our “Bookkeeping Fundamentals” course is to provide Canadian bookkeeping education to those who wish to become knowledgeable and self-assured in bookkeeping essentials. It is designed for students with no bookkeeping experience or knowledge, and has also proven to be a great refresher for bookkeepers who do have experience. During this course, students are guided through the financial activities of a fictional small business to experience the theoretical knowledge, practical application and flow of basic business transactions – all through the use of manual bookkeeping.
#2 What does this course cover?
The Fundamentals course content provides a foundational knowledge and understanding of bookkeeping so students can more easily identify the ‘behind the scenes’ actions in software. Whether your goal is to become a bookkeeper or to refine your existing knowledge and skills, this course will solidify the basis of Debits and Credits and convey the importance of double-entry bookkeeping. The objective of this course is for students to become valuable employees or assistants in the bookkeeping profession. Course material is not provided and must be purchased by the student in time for their first class. Homework will be shared using private SharePoint folders.
#3 How long does the course run?
This course runs for a total of 13 weeks, with one class per week. Each class is 2.5 hours in length. Bookkeeping Fundamentals courses are held on TUESDAYS.
#4 Is the course taught online or in a live setting only?
This course is held live and online (via Zoom) with certified, experienced instructors.
#5 Is there a limit to the number of students in each course?
Yes – our courses are limited to a maximum of 10 students.
#6 What is expected of each student?
Our expectations of students include being on camera for the duration of each class, signing a student commitment agreement, participating in class, and completing/submitting all of the homework assignments within the required timeline – which are all requirements of receiving the course ‘Attendance Certificate’. Joining a private FaceBook group provides support to each course group and serves as our major communication tool once the course starts.
#7 How much does this course cost?
The cost of this course is $1,925.00 plus applicable taxes. A 50% deposit is required upon receipt of invoice to reserve a seat in this course, with the balance due 10 business days before the course start date. There is an optional Assessment available for an additional fee of $175.00 plus applicable taxes.
#8 If I sign up for both courses, can I get a discount?
Yes – you can sign up for our 2-course package by submitting the registrations for both the Fundamentals and Advanced courses to receive a savings of $224.00. Check out our Package Course.
#9 What is your refund policy?
Our refund policy: Full Refund if written notice is received 30 days (or more) prior to the course start date. If less than 30 days’ written notice is received, then the deposit will be forfeited. There is no refund available after the course start date.
