This advanced bookkeeping course provides the next level of training that will enhance your ability to move forward in your bookkeeping career. The contents of this comprehensive course extensively covers more advanced tasks of Canadian manual bookkeeping. It extends over a 14-week period with one class per week for 2.5 hours.
Advanced Bookkeeping Course
Registration is kept to a small group to ensure individual attention. Our students will obtain knowledge and skills to assist them with future goals. This 35 hour course encompasses all aspects of full-cycle bookkeeping and compliance. Our curriculum revolves around the transactions of a fictional small business; and includes theory, exercises, and reviews. We also create a private Facebook group membership to support students during their training.
The course content starts by reviewing accounting records for a new client. It continues by processing its bookkeeping through multiple accounting periods. We will cover topics a bookkeeper may encounter and should be comfortable with before working with small business clients. The content will provide answers to questions about special accounts, processing more complex transactions, ownership accounts, inventory, and foreign currency, to name a few. Time will be spent taking you through the proper completion of a month-end and how to prepare a year-end for submission to an accountant. Active discussions will include how you can improve your own career and become a valuable asset to the small businesses you work with.

This course meets the CPB Canada checklist for the Technician and Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB) Levels knowledge standards. Our courses fulfill industry normal CPD requirements, including those members of CPB Canada.

#1 Who is the Advanced Bookkeeping Course designed for?
Our commitment to educate bookkeepers across Canada continues with our Bookkeeping Advanced course to help them become the best possible professionals. It is designed as a continuation of the bookkeeping training for those who complete our “Bookkeeping Fundamentals” course or have achieved their Technician designation through CPB Canada or have equivalent knowledge and experience (assessment may be required).
#2 What does this course cover?
As a continuation of the Fundamentals training or an extension of your existing knowledge, this course content covers a variety of topics which can assist you moving forward in your career. Whether your goal is to be a stellar employee or to venture out on your own, this course will develop your knowledge and help increase your confidence. The course material provided to students is carefully selected content and also includes examples and exercises. Both the course material and the homework will be shared using private SharePoint folders.
#3 How long does the course run?
This course runs for a total of 14 weeks, with one class per week. Each class will be 2.5 hours in length. Bookkeeping Advanced courses are held on WEDNESDAYS.
#4 Is the course taught online or in a live setting only?
This course will be delivered in the same format as our Bookkeeping Fundamentals course. It is held live, online (via Zoom) with certified, experienced instructors.
#5 Is there a limit to the number of students in each course?
Yes – our courses are limited to a maximum of 10 students.
#6 What is expected of each student?
Our expectations of students include being on camera for the duration of each class, signing a student commitment agreement, participating in class, and completing/submitting all of the homework assignments within the required timeline – which are all requirements of receiving the course ‘Attendance Certificate’. Joining a private FaceBook group provides support to each course group and serves as our major communication tool once the course starts.
#7 How much does this course cost?
The cost of this course is $2,399.00 plus applicable taxes, which includes course materials. A 50% deposit is required upon receipt of invoice to reserve a seat in this course, with the balance due 10 business days before the course start date.
#8 If I sign up for both courses, can I get a discount?
Yes – you can sign up for our 2-course package by submitting the registrations for both the Fundamentals and Advanced courses to receive a savings of $224.00. Check out our Package Course.
#9 What is your refund policy?
Our refund policy: Full Refund if written notice is received 30 days (or more) prior to the course start date. If less than 30 days’ written notice is received, then the deposit will be forfeited. There is no refund available after the course start date.
